The Barbados national football team, nicknamed Bajan Pride, is the national team of Barbados and is controlled by the Barbados Football Association. It has never qualified for a major international tournament. It came close to qualifying for the 2005 Gold Cup as it hosted the Digicel Cup finals for the Caribbean that acted as Gold Cup qualifiers, but finished fourth of the four teams. In 2001, it surprised many by making the semifinal round of the 2002 World Cup Qualifers. In the first game of this round, they pulled off a shock 2-1 win over Costa Rica, but lost their five remaining games.

The Barbados nation team is mainly made up of Barbadian based players, but one Barbadian born player that English fans may recognise would be Defensive/Midfielder Gregory Goodridge who had spells with a host of English clubs during the 90's.
Most will remember Goodridge from his time at Queens Park Rangers and two spells with Torquay United where he played his best days in English football. Goodridge has since returned back to Barbados is now playing for Brittons Hill.
One of three English born players currently in the Barbados national team, Paul Ifill is Midfielder who plays for Crystal Palace and formally Sheffield United, Ifill was also a member of the Millwall squad that reached the FA Cup final in 2004.
He started his career as a trainee with Millwall and qualifies to play for Barbados through his mother Christine.
Doncaster Rovers striker Mark McCammon who was also a member of the Millwall squad that reached the FA Cup final in 2004, formally with Brighton and Hove Albion and currently playing for Doncaster Rovers.
Plays for Aldershot Town in The Conference. He wears the number 12 shirt and is a midfielder. His brother Tom is also a footballer, who plays for Championship side Crystal Palace who may join his brother in the Barbados Side soon.
