Giampaolo Pazzini (born August 2, 1984 in Pescia) is an Italian football (soccer) player, who currently plays for Fiorentina, having been transferred there from Atalanta in January 2005, with Valeri Bojinov from U.S. Lecce. As a powerful centre-forward, he was considered a natural replacement for former Fiorentina player Luca Toni by coach Cesare Prandelli.

Contents

The high-points of Giampaolo Pazzini's career so far include two goals scored against Juventus keeper, Gianluigi Buffon.

Pazzini is currently a member of the Italy Under-21 team.

Pazzini was included in the first FIFA-sanctioned match at the new Wembley Stadium in a game against England Under-21 on 24 March 2007. The Fiorentina forward set three records in the 3-3 draw: he scored the first goal at the new Wembley Stadium; he scored the the fastest ever goal at Wembley (in both its old and new incarnations), timed at 28 seconds; and he scored the first ever hat-trick at the new Wembley, after 68 minutes.[1]
