Washington State Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles represents the 36th Legislative District which includes Ballard, Blue Ridge, Crown Hill, Greenwood, Magnolia, Queen Anne neighboorhoods of Seattle as well as the north half of Downtown Seattle The district also take the western half of Lake Union. Jeanne Kohl-Welles was elected to the State Senate in 1994. From 1990-1994 she was in the state house.

Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles has been an educator, a community leader, and legislator for many years.

Education: Ph.D in Sociology Cal State Northbridge Political Affiliation: Democrat State: Washington District: 36th Faculty: Instructor at the University of Washington in the department of Women's Studies and Sociology.
