This is the complete list of Olympic medalists in women's cross-country skiing from 1952 to 2006.

This event was 20 km in 1984 and 1988.
3 x 5 km from 1956 to 1972
The 5 km event ran from 1964 to 1998 before being replaced by the 10 km event, which was being reintroduced after the 10 km had been discontinued following the 1988 Winter Olympics.
This event ran from 1992 to 2002 and was replaced by a 15 km double pursuit (7.5 km classical + 7.5 km freestyle) for the 2006 Winter Olympics.

2002: 5 km classical interval start + 5 km freestyle pursuit, run later on the same day.
2006: 7.5 km classical mass start, exchange boots, skis, and poles; then 7.5 km freestyle, run immediately after on the same day.
2002: 1.5 km classical
