Oulu Airport (IATA: OULICAO: EFOU) is located in Oulunsalo, Finland, about 15 kilometres south-west of Oulu city centre. The airport is the second busiest in Finland after Helsinki-Vantaa airport, as measured by the number of passengers (around 810,000 in 2005) and the amount of freight transported. There are more than a dozen daily flights to Helsinki and one daily flight to Stockholm (Sweden). Oulu airport is also extensively used by Finnish Air Forces for training purposes. Recently the old terminal was demolished for more apron space. A major extension of the main terminal (mainly jetbridges) is scheduled for 2007. The managing body of the airport is Finavia.
