Original & Founding Members: (1999-2003)
Ben Woods (vocals)
Kirk Bolen (guitar, vocals)
Ross Drennan (guitar, vocals)
Matt Harris (bass, vocals)
Gabe Rutledge (drums)

Slingshot57 originated out of Lincoln Christian College. They began as a smaller band and eventually grew to bigger fame, especially in central Illinois. They received heavy national radio airplay in 2001-02 with their single "Everyday." They recorded 2 full length albums, performed with several major label acts, and been aired on three consecutive seasons of MTV's "The Real World (original band)." The band toured nationally with CIY Believe Conferences (also original band) and played festivals, state fairs, and teen conventions, everything from bars to churches, parties to high school auditoriums.

In 2003, four of the members left to pursue other ministries. Kirk Bolen went to Missouri to become a worship minister. Ross Drennan left to Springfield to become a children's minister. Matt Harris is now in Colorado as a campus minister. And Gabe Rutledge is a youth minister in Mattoon, Illinois. A search for new members led to a new lineup:

Nash Bruce (guitar, vocals)
Neill Nation (guitar)
Paul Stewart (bass)
Nick McNeely (drums, vocals)

However, in June of 2005 & April of 2006, Nick McNeely and Neill Nation left the band, eventually finding a home in locally-based rock band, Bastian.

To replace these fine gentleman, Daniel Bishop is now playing drums. Tim Wilson is the new bass player...as Paul Stewart has switched over to guitar.
